    Villa Bastide Opio is an incredibly unique property, and an absolute treat as a summer holiday home.
    This historic property was originally the stables for the chateau of Opio several hundred years ago.
    The entire property has been beautifully restored, furnished and decorated, keeping the charm of some orignal features and modernizing all the conveniences.

    Opio village is less than 1 km from the property. It has a supermarket, boulangerie/cafe, pharmacy…. This is easily walkable and takes approximately 10 minutes. There are a few restaurants in Opio, located an easy drive from the property.

    There are many other wonderful villages nearby.
    The village of Le Rouret is a 5 minute drive away. It has a supermarket, shops, several restaurants and cafes.
    The neighboring villages have some very good restaurants such as Le Clos de St Pierre in Le Rouret and l’Ecole des Filles in Les Bar sur Loup as well as several more family style French restaurants.
    The village of Pont du Loup has a mountain river, Le Loup, which runs through it to the sea. At this village, there are natural forming ponds which are lovely for summer swimming.
    Another must see in the local area, is the perched village of Gourdon, which has amazing views, restaurants, cafes and is a great start from which to enjoy mountain hikes.

    Another slightly larger village nearby is the charming village of Valbonne.
    It is approximately a 10 minute drive from the villa. Valbonne is well known for it’s lovely boutiques, shops, center square with lots of atmosphere, great restaurants, cafes… There is also a great local market every Friday, which takes over the streets with great local products and food. The summer months bring lots of entertainment as well, such as the circus, movies, music festivals, plays, exhibits…

    The villa is approximately a 25 to 30 minute drive to the coastal towns of Cannes, Anitbes, Biot, Cagnes sur Mer and Villeneuve Loubet. The seaside towns and villages have so much going on in the summer, with great seaside boardwalks, tons of restaurants to choose from, medieval castles and churches, cafes, entertainment, water sports and clubs…

  • Villa Bastide Opio has a very large garden. There is approximately 1,000 m2 that is flat and more manicured and maintained. The larger part of the garden is left natural with a slope and terraces. It is great for privacy around the property and exploring for older children.
    There is a boules court on one of the lower terraces, which is perfectly placed in the natural shade of the trees.

    The front garden is flat and grassy and great for younger children to run around. There is also a side garden which is accessed from the kitchen and main hall. It is flat and shaded, especially near the kitchen. This area has a large wooden table for outdoor meals by the pool area. It is conveniently located near the kitchen for meal preparations. There is also a barbecue.

    The pool area is just beyond the outdoor eating area. It is very private, tranquil and has a natural style with lots of greenery surroundings. There are several different lounge areas, including lounge chairs, poolside cushions and a large cushion seating area. The pool is approximately 7m x 3m and perfect for cooling down.

    The garden and pool area are very secluded and have a feeling of being away from it all. Perfect for enjoying this amazing property and the natural beauty of the outdoors.

  • The interior of the property is amazing. It is truly an architectural delight. A well known French interior designer, Jacqueline Morabito, is responsible for transforming this property into a unique home filled with light, charm, original features and modern conveniences.

    The Bastide is laid out on 3 levels over approximately 350 m2.

    The ground floor has the kitchen, dining and several living areas. The kitchen is modern, has all the needed appliances and conveniently leads both into the interior dining room and into the side garden where there is an outdoor table and seating for meals.
    The dining room leads into the larger living room with comfortable couches and TV with satellite. Further on are 2 charming libraries and a smaller living room. There is more then ample space to spread out and enjoy this gorgeous bastide.

    Above the smaller living room at one end of the bastide, is a lovely double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
    On the other side of the bastide, is access to the first floor. Here there are 2 bedrooms (one double bedroom and one child’s bedroom) which share a family bathroom. The double bedroom also has a private terrace with views of the mountains and garden/pool area.
    On the first floor, there is also a living room and a fourth bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom.

    The master suite is located on the entire third floor. There is a double bedroom, study/living area, dressing and ensuite bathroom.

    The sixth bedroom is on the ground floor in the side “wing”, near the main hall. It has 2 single beds and ensuite bathroom.

    The interior is beautifully finished and decorated with light tones, high ceilings, unique and comfortable furniture and high quality finishings.

    It is an absolute pleasure to experience this property as a holiday home in the South of France.
